Today’s Full Moon in Taurus is filled with multiple energies, it feels like a major Russian novel with a rich diversity of main characters. Its intense, its chaotic – its life-changing, and the most intriguing thing? We all know we’re on this emotional rollercoaster, but continue to be lost for words when we’re asked where we are heading.
What exactly is a lunar eclipse?
A total lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves in between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on the Moon. As it is an uncommon occurence and happens about twice a year, it is considered to be an astrologically disruptive time in which the universe truly takes the reins with destiny (the North Node) and our karmic pasts (South Node).
What’s in the stars?
This lunar eclipse has an ensemble of main characters, some that have aligned perfectly together into allies, whilst others have gathered and have tension with the others – yet, they can’t escape the inevitable limits and authority imposed on them. Sounds a bit like a captivating Russian novel, doesn’t it?
The Sun’s Conjunction
This full moon in Taurus has the Sun in conjunction with Venus, Mercury and the South Node – all in Scorpio (Sun 16°, Venus 20°, Mercury 15° and South Node 13°). They are all in opposition to the Moon’s conjunction with Uranus and the North Node – all in Taurus (16°, 16° and 13° respectively).
The Vibe
When planets are in conjunction, their energies are being amplified and are working together. It is a positive aspect when the planets are in harmony. For instance, the Sun’s conjunction with Venus and Mercury is incredibly interesting as it encourages the deep thoughts and feelings when it comes to our relationships and concept of love (Venus).
Moreover, we rationally take on these subjects to understand ourselves deeper and perhaps even reflect on what we lack (Mercury). The sun, Venus and Mercury are also conjunct the South Node, which has everything to do with our karmic ties, what is familiar to us, our past and our comfort.
Therefore, if we allow our conscious to be fully in the present moment, we will be very aware of what we perceive as safety in our relationships and perhaps even in the spoken language, how we communicate or how we perceive safety for us.
November
poem “november” by margaret atwood, a perfect representation of the current lunar eclipse vibes
What you can’t bury
give it away
what you can’t give away
you must carry with you
it is always heavier than
you thought
The Moon’s Conjunction
On the other hand, the Moon’s conjunction with Uranus and the North Node tell another story. The moon rules our emotions, our subconscious mind, our instincts – the Moon is our mother. Uranus is the planet of unpredicatable change, of rebellion – always striking its spontaneous and unprecedented changes like lightening in a storm. Lastly, the North Node is the other side of the South Node’s coin – representing our destined path for soul growth, our purpose and our challenge in this lifetime.
When you combine all three astrological bodies together, an amalgam of intense change that can embark us on an emotional journey to realign our path onto our destiny with immediate change.
Saturn Being A Bitch, Again
But wait, there’s more! Saturn, planet of limits, discipline, moral obligations and authority, is squaring both the Moon’s conjunction and the Sun’s conjunction. A square is an aspect that is considered to be difficult because it is testing, it is creating tension to encourage growth.

Painting: “Blind Man’s Bluff” (circa 1900) by Konstantin Makovsky
A fair representation of the current energies this eclipse: knowing that things are in movement, despite Mars being currently in retrograde, but not really knowing what’s going on or where we are headed – as if we are playing Blind Man’s Bluff.
So, where are we heading?
This Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus has an overwhelming amount of narratives. We may be finding our lives revolving around themes of relationships, communication, the mind, hopes and wishes, the future, endings, career… Anything goes right now, but the main narrartive we should anchor our consciousness to is the life-death-rebirth narrative that the Taurus-Scorpio axis embodies. By allowing ourselves to observe the narrative of life-death-rebirth, we begin to realise the transformative process of growth that we may be going through – beginning new journeys from the ashes of what no longer serves us but fulfilled its purpose.
Suggestions for this Full Moon
As eclipse season has a lot to do with our destiny (North Node) and our karmic ties (South Node) besides it being an odd ocurrence astronomically and astrologically speaking, it is a time in which the universe takes charge in a much more profound and, at times, chaotic way.
As the energy is so unpredictable and at times things may arise without us truly knowing their why, it is essential to lay back and observe. This is especially important for this Full Moon as there is plenty of energy arising and themes are coming to light that it may feel like too much is going on.

To me it is like reading one of Tolstoy’s novels, there are plenty of characters that are all intermingling with each other and all have different narratives but at the same time they are all relatable. You get overwhelmed, not knowing what to focus on as there’s so much going on.
So, what’s the best thing to do?
Like reading Tolstoy or any other Russian novelist, sit back and watch. Let the story unravel before you and, eventually, everything will make sense.
