This Full Moon in Leo is bound to be dramatic and explosive, not only because full Moons tend to illuminate what is hidden and needs to be brought to our awareness to emotionally purge… But also, because of Leo’s expressive nature which is confident enought to take up space. So, add a bit of Uranus’ rebellious and disruptive energy and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an exacerbating Full Moon that demands relieving and releasing tension… SO LET’S GET INTO IT!
What’s in the stars?

This Full Moon in Leo will be exact on the 12th of February at 14.53h CET. The Sun will be in 24 degrees of Aquarius and in close conjunction with Mercury at 26 degrees Aquarius. Like all Full Moons, the Sun will be opposing the Moon, which will be in 24 degrees of Leo.
The two most significant aspects of this Full Moon will be the influence of Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus, which will be squaring both the Sun and the Moon and Chiron in 24 degrees of Aries, which will be sextiling the Sun and trining the Moon.

What’s the vibe?
The Leo-Aquarius Axis
Aquarius and Leo are sister signs that would arguably be associated with the performaner and the behind the scenes director.
Aquarius is the sign of innovative thinking, authenticity, community, humanitarianism, rationality and detached intellectuality. To me, Aquarius understands the traditions and conventionalism of Capricorn but bridges us between what we know and have been taught to a futuristic or progressive mindset. If you’ve got friends with Aquarius placements, you may have certain conversations that make you think they come from another century. Despite Aquarius being an Air sign and having a naturally sharp mind, they are also exceptionally spontaneous and quirky – comfortable in its odd skin, but does want to be in the lime light.
On the other hand, Leo is the performer and the expressionist of the zodiac signs. No fear to speak its mind in a confident and convincing manner with its childlike, creative energy. Although an unevolved Leo may seem self-absorbed, it comes from a crippling need for validation and to be seen. Like Aquarius, Leo is exceptionally generous and have the heart of a lion.
What some astrologers may argue is that despite their different modus operandi, they can both be susceptible to having a God Complex – they are very aware of their qualities and their abilities, but Aquarius’ fear of the spotlight may have them comfortably refuging behind the stage and Leo may seek for the validation of others by overperforming. Both have exceptional potential, but need to be nurtured despite their undeniable confidence!

Uranus in Taurus
If the New Moon in Aquarius wasn’t enough to have us stirred and perplexed, this Full Moon in Leo emphasises the disruptive energy of Uranus even further. Uranus is the planet that symbolises unexpected change, rebellion, innovations and reinvention. Thus, having Uranus influencing this Full Moon and baring in mind that Aquarius is its ruling sign – this Moon not only exalts the Aquarian energy of a grand change and step forward into the future, but even its influence of Taurus (where it is currently positioned) give this step forward into another reality a tone of practicality and stability.
Furthermore, Uranus is positioned in a point of tension as it squares the Sun-Moon opposition. Whenever a planet is in a square, its energy causes such tension that it forces us to take action to avoid the discomfort. Now, add the opposition of the Sun (our ego, vitality and awareness) and the Moon (our inner world, emotions and subconscious)… The tension in this Full Moon is building for us to relieve and release.
Chiron and the Point of Thales
What makes this Full Moon even more interesting is that Chiron, the wounded healer, is in a positive aspect with the Sun (sextiling) and the Moon (trining). This mathematical angle is known as the Point of Thales and in astrology it is considered to be the point that releases energy under a tense opposition and allows energy to flow.
So…?
This Full Moon in Leo is bound to be dramatic and explosive. The influence of Mercury will provide us the insight necessary to understand, process and express the changes for us to step into our future reality. Uranus ensures an anxious energy hovering over the days prior, during and after the Full Moon, leaving us restless and possibly presenting unexpected and disruptive news. These revelations will be what urges us catapult into the new and the promising unknown, but doing so being as aligned and authentic to your true self (Aquarius) whilst also expressing yourself in an unapologetic way (Leo). Whatever doesn’t serve this purpose must be innovated in a practical way (Uranus in Taurus) and is bound to be a therapeutic change (Chiron).

Suggestions for this Full Moon in Leo
1. List qualities and abilities you’re grateful for

Although Full Moons are all about purging and releasing what no longer serves us, it is also an opportunity to be grateful for the things we already have. Instead of looking outward, allow yourself to look inward and reflect on what qualities and abilities you’re most grateful to have. For some of us, it may be hard to think positively about ourselves – but by harnessing the confidence of both Leo and Aquarius, perhaps we’ll find a newfound love for qualities and abilities we would have never appreciated before.
2. What hinders your growth?
In the true spirit of the Full Moon, reflect on what hinders you to express yourself with unapologetic authenticity. Is it work, hobbies, places, people, your thoughts, your actions…?
Reflect and note all of that that no longer serves you, even the smallest of details.
BONUS POINTS: consider why you adopted these things that are not aligned with your authentic self – were they imposed? Were they out of fear? Allow yourself to explore the reason behind this inauthenticity.

3. Burning Ritual
Write yourself a letter of all that that you want to release and relieve, the version of yourself that you want to let go to give space for a more authentic self. You can write your letter on paper and burn it (embrace Leo’s FIRE!).
Following the recent words of a friend, to make fire, something needs to burn.
