Many of us have been feeling a peculiar energy this summer – as if we are on the brink of something, that we’re nudging ourselves through life to finally get through to the other side. The other side of a long awaited reality that we’re not sure how it will manifest, but knowing that it is there. Sort of like when you can smell spring coming, but being in the midst of a climate crisis you’re not sure how the season is going to roll out (lol, but not lol).
It is this disruptive energy that is going to be further illuminated by this full moon in Capricorn, which precisely highlights this chaotic disruptive energy that is illusive but demands action: the Mars-Neptune square.
What’s in the stars?

Today on the 21st of July 2024 @ 12.17h CET, we find ourselves at the end of Cancer season as the sun is at its anaretic degree (29 degrees in Cancer), so we’re feeling Cancer at its fullest. Whatismore, the moon is in opposition in 29 degrees Capricorn, which makes this the second full moon in Capricorn this year. That in itself puts an emphasis on the Capricorn-Cancer axis, something we have all noticed by connecting with subjects of family, career, deep emotions, home, parenthood and long term commitments besides limitations.
If that isn’t enough of an energy pull, we also have Neptune and Mars in exact aspects with this Full Moon in Capricorn. We have Neptune in 29 degrees Pisces, forming a trine with the sun and a sextile with the moon, whilst we also have Mars at the point of Thales in 0 degrees of Gemini, forming a sextile with the sun and a trine with the moon.
And if that wasn’t enough of an astrological cocktail, we’ve also got Pluto at 0 degrees Aquarius in conjunction with the Moon in Capricorn. YAY!
Anaretic degrees
Anaretic degrees are basically when we find a planet at the last degree of a sign or in 29 degrees. This degree is the sign’s energy at its fullest and at its most mature, its energy intense and almost “thick” in the air. You can almost compare it to a hot summer’s day with its humidity and heat until you walk into a shop and its AC relieves you – it’s the same feeling going from the intense 29 degrees of a sign into a fresh 0 degrees!

What’s the vibe?
Generally speaking, today’s Full Moon in Capricorn is an intense amalgam of confusion as well as a strong urge to move forward.
This moon is extremely dynamic and is definitely a game changer, stimulating a new beginning and sparking new action with Mars in 0 degrees Gemini. Yet, we also find ourselves with an important conjunction of the moon with Pluto, making this inevitable change to be disruptive and perhaps hard to integrate because its overwhelming profoundness.
Moon-Pluto conjunction
With Capricorn Moon in conjunction with Pluto at 0 degrees Aquarius, we are perhaps taking our deep subconscious to new lengths, questioning self-limiting beliefs and broadening our perspective on our own inner world, causing us to have an overwhelming feeling of uncertainty as of what to believe in ourselves as we are consciously changing on a massive scale.
Two Points of Thales
Whatismore, with the influences of Neptune and Mars to this Full Moon, we are confused yet feeling catapulted into the future.
Both Mars and Neptune are at the Point of Thales, a point of release (and relief) from the intensity of an opposition between two planets, in this case the Sun and the Moon.
Neptune’s trine to the Sun in Cancer will inevitably have us feeling more spiritually connected, yet it’ll definitely have us feeling in a dream-like state that will make us question everything. Moreover, Mars’ influence has us antsy for movement, for action, for establishing boundaries or imposing our boundaries.
Suggestions for the Full Moon in Capricorn
1. From uncertainty to clarity

This Full Moon in Capricorn is very energetically charged, yet Neptune has us wandering without any sense of direction while Mars is jumping up and down like a little child ready to throw itself at anything you set your mind to.
In moments of uncertainty, it’s easy to feel adrift, as though you’re stuck in the tide of life and can’t find anything to hold onto. But, your absolute truths are what you must hold onto in these times of confusion.
So, come back to your absolute truths. Make a long, detailed list of them. You can start off with things like who you know you are at your core, what you know you’ve always wanted (regardless of how difficult it might be to get there), what life you feel you want to have that is most profoundly connected to your core.
Once you feel more rooted in your absolute truths…
2. Release
Traditional to Full Moons, they illuminate what we need to let go to continue to grow.
Having your absolute truths in mind, think of everything in your life that isn’t aligned with these absolute truths and the vision of your life. Note anything from lifestyle, friendships and work that hinders your growth and that you know in your heart you must change to feel more aligned.

This way, you will have more clarity during this time of uncertainty. It’s easy to feel confused and overwhelmed when we have so much in our minds, but doing a bit of “life spring cleaning” every now and again helps to declutter the energy in our life. Sometimes, making life simpler is the answer.
Besides, consider it spiritual hygiene!
3. Recharge your minerals
Talking about spiritual hygiene, this Full Moon in Capricorn is ideal to charge up your crystals and cleanse them.
If you live close to a river or to the sea, bring your crystals there at night and wash them. If not, you can always put them in a container with a bit of water and leave them in the moonlight overnight, which will not only cleanse and reenergise your crystals but also give you a bit of moon water, too!
